WHY NE ALABAMA?
Alabama is becoming one of the fastest growing production destinations in the South, due in no small part to our competitive entertainment investment incentives. But in Northeast Alabama we go the extra mile, offering additional, local incentives that clearly say, “Open for Business!” Alabama has high quality of life, with low cost of production. Longleaf Studio’s is your singular resource for film and television in our region.
We have access to low cost dormitories and hotels that are only a five minute drive from the studio. We are also able to assist with housing needs through grants or local municipalities. Also, we can assist with production incentive financing as well as local sales tax abatement. We are your single point of contact with governmental agencies.
JSU Drama offers a minor in Film and Entertainment Technology. The film courses are led by Guest Artist in Residence and Hollywood veteran Jeffrey Nichols.
Longleaf studios will use it best efforts to walk producers through the process of applying for and maximizing the Alabama rebate. We accomplish this by leveraging our relationship with the Alabama Film Office and providing producers with contacts to local vendors that should qualify for the rebate.
